Reverend Xinwei Lin was born in Fujian, China. He studied at Sichuan University, Wuhan University and Zhongshan University. In 1991, he obtained his Ph.D. and taught at Zhongshan University. Starting in 1994, he did post-doctoral research work in medical physiology in the United States and Canada. In 1999, he and his wife Jun accepted Christ and were baptised here at LCBC. The next year he was called into full-time ministry. He entered Taylor Seminary in 2001 and obtained his Master of Divinity in 2005. In 2004, he was called to establish the Rainbow Christian Church in Calgary. Pastor Lin served at Rainbow for six years until he was called back to LCBC in August 2010 to serve as senior pastor. He and his wife have two sons and one daughter.
English Ministries Pastor
Reverend Peter Co was raised in a Chinese Christian family in the Philippines. When he was 13 years-old, he accepted Christ and felt God's call to ministry. He entered seminary at the age of 24. He obtained his Master of Divinity at the Philippines Baptist Theological Seminary. He later served as a crisis counsellor at Emory University Hospital while receiving further training at Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta, USA. Pastor Co has served in Chinese, Tagalog and English-speaking churches. He was called in September 2009 to serve as Pastor of English Ministries at LCBC. He is married to Miriam whom he met in seminary. They have one daughter and one son.
Mandarin Ministries Pastor
Reverend Paul Dong was born in New Taipei City, Taiwan. In 1985, he graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the National Defense Medical Center in Taipei. He accepted Christ at the age of 20 years-old, and served at the Hsin-Yi Friendship Presbyterian Church in Taipei. He has two sons with his wife Annie. In 2013, Pastor Dong and his wife were called to enter full-time ministry, and he obtained his Master of Divinity in 2014. He served at Taifeng Christian Church in Taiwan from October 2013 to November 2014. He was called to be the pastor of the Edmonton Good Shepherd Chinese Lutheran Church from January 2015 to February 2017. He was called to serve at LCBC starting in April 2017.
Mandarin Watchcare & Evangelism Volunteer Pastor
Pastor Titus Toon was born in Taiwan but his ancestral roots are from Liaoning, China. He grew up in a Christian home and his father Pastor Wen-Huan Toon was the founding pastor of LCBC. Titus accepted Christ when he was 16 years-old. In 1974 he graduated from Christ’s College in Kuandu, Taiwan. He then worked for a Christian children’s foundation. In 1976, he immigrated to Canada. After being unemployed for two years, he opened the Mandarin Restaurant in Edmonton which he operated for 12 years until he retired in 1995. In 2000, Titus was diagnosed with stomach cancer which had spread to the surrounding lymph nodes. He had surgery to remove 80% of his stomach, as well as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and by God’s grace he was cured. For many years, he has had a burden to reach out to those suffering with illness, marriage troubles, and unemployment. He has also been involved in church planting. In 2016 Titus was called to be the Mandarin Watchcare and Evangelism Volunteer Pastor at LCBC. Pastor Toon was married to his wife Mary in 1982 and has two sons and one daughter who are also baptized believers, as well as four grandchildren.
